FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) โ A Fayette County man was arrested on March 12, 2025, after causing disturbances at multiple businesses and resisting law enforcement officers.
At approximately 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance call at Smoker Friendly, where a male suspect was reportedly yelling and cursing at a store clerk. While en route, authorities received a second call from Walmart, reporting that a male matching the description was inside the store, screaming and throwing his backpack around customers.
Upon arrival near Route 19, an officer observed a man crossing from Walmart toward Sheetz. After speaking with the clerk at Smoker Friendly, the officer was given a description of the suspect as a male with frizzy hair carrying a backpack. The officer then located the individual sitting outside CVS and attempted to make contact.
When approached, the suspect began yelling and cursing at the officer. As the officer attempted to take him into custody, the suspect resisted, requiring the use of force to handcuff him. Chief Hogan arrived on the scene to assist in the arrest, and the suspect was transported to the police station for booking.
During transport, the suspect became increasingly belligerent, yelling and kicking the partition inside the police cruiser. Upon arrival at the station, Deputy Hall joined the booking process after hearing the commotion. The suspect continued his disruptive behavior, repeatedly kicking the holding cell, which led officers to place shackles on his feet.
Authorities identified the suspect as David Ogletree Thomas, born November 24, 1982. The incident occurred in Fayetteville, Fayette County. Thomas is now facing charges related to disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and destruction of property.
