HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man faces charges after slapping his girlfriend in the face as she woke up and then laughed about it.
According to police, on July 25, 2023, at around 6:45 am, officers responded to W 5th Ave. in Huntington regarding a domestic disturbance. Once on the scene, the victim stated she was asleep in the bedroom. She woke up and was immediately slapped in the face by Michael Angel Rivera. She said that after Rivera slapped her, he then began to laugh.
The victim said she was able to get away from Rivera and called 911.
Rivera is charged with domestic battery. He is currently in Southern Regional Jail.
