PARKERSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man was arrested Friday for attempting to Solicit a Minor Via Computer.
Reports from the Parkersburg Police Department indicate that, on Friday, 8/12/2022, Parkersburg Police Detectives assigned to the West Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force arrested Martin Keith Bailey II, 47 of St. Marys.Â
Bailey is alleged to have engaged in communication via an electronic device with a person he believed to be a teenage girl of the age of 15.Â
During this communication, Bailey is said to have discussed sexual acts with the juvenile and to have questioned her about parts of her body.Â
Bailey eventually travelled to a St. Marys location where he had arranged to meet with the female.Â
Here, he was arrested and transported to the Pleasants County Sheriff’s Department where he was interviewed by detectives and processed.Â
Bailey later saw arraignment by a Pleasants County Magistrate for the Wood County charge of Soliciting a Minor Via Computer. Bond was set at $50,000.Â
Mr. Bailey failed to post bond, and is currently awaiting a preliminary hearing in Magistrate Court at the North Central Regional Jail.Â
