OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An Oak Hill man is facing charges after stealing money from a vehicle and purchasing narcotics with parts of it.
According to Oak Hill Police, a call regarding a theft at Maple Court Apartment occurred on April 13th, 2024. When they arrived, the victim said her car was parked out front, and some items were missing. She went on to say she had 1,829 dollars in her wallet and only had 417 dollars left. She stated earlier that Samuel Thompson had come to her friend’s apartment, where she resides, to use the bathroom. She noticed Thompson going through several rooms.
Later, she noticed that her vehicle was unlocked and the key fob was missing. Police contacted Thompson, who was observed to have a white powdery substance in his nostrils. Thompson acted excited and was sweating.
Thompson admitted to stealing the money and purchasing drugs with part of the money.
Thompson is charged with petit larceny and entering a building other than a dwelling. He is currently in Southern Regional Jail.
