MONTGOMERY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fayette County man is arrested after assaulting a police officer for the second time in two years.
According to Montgomery Police Department, an officer stopped at the Go-Mart in Montgomery to purchase a drink. James Hoffman allegedly came in and started to yell verbal threats and cause a disturbance by screaming and cursing. When the officer and the suspect went outside, he continued to get in the officer’s face and yell profanity. When he was asked numerous times to calm down, he grabbed the officer’s wrist, which led the officer to the suspect to the ground and arrested him.
Hoffman pleaded guilty to battery on an officer and obstructing back in April of 2021 in Kanawha County.
Hoffman is charged with battery on an officer, disorderly conduct, and assault on an officer. His bond is currently set at 10,000 dollars.
