BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Boone County man was arrested on Sunday evening after his wife reported a violent domestic assault that included physical abuse and threats.
At approximately 5:52 p.m. on January 12, 2025, Troopers M.S. Hall and R.K. Bowers of the West Virginia State Police Madison Detachment received a walk-in complaint from a woman alleging an attack by her husband, Billy Trent, at their residence on Upper River Road in the Danville area.
Victim Details Alleged Assault
The victim stated that an argument with her husband escalated into violence. She reported that Trent choked her while she was in the driver’s seat of her vehicle, then dragged her from the car and forced her into the back seat of his truck.
During the altercation, the victim said Trent struck her head against the side of his truck multiple times before she managed to free herself. She eventually returned to her own vehicle, where Trent allegedly entered as well. The victim then drove both of them to the West Virginia State Police Madison Detachment to report the incident.
Evidence and Arrest
Troopers observed visible red marks on the victim’s head and neck, consistent with her account. Security camera footage provided by the victim corroborated her story, showing Trent choking her and forcing her into the back seat of his truck.
Based on the victim’s statements, visible injuries, and video evidence, Trent was arrested and processed at the Madison Detachment.
Ongoing Investigation
Trent remains in custody as the investigation continues. Further charges may be filed based on additional evidence.
