BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Boone County man was arrested early Saturday morning following a domestic violence incident at a residence on Low Gap Road.
At approximately 1:05 a.m. on January 11, 2025, Trooper M.S. Hall responded to a complaint reported to the Boone County Emergency Management Center about a disturbance at 3201 Low Gap Road in the Danville area.
Upon arrival, Trooper Hall overheard a heated argument inside the residence. At the front door, he encountered Clenton Carlton Toler, who was later identified as the suspect. A distressed woman approached during the interaction, visibly shaken and displaying a large swollen hematoma on her right eye. She informed Trooper Hall, “Well, uh, he got mad at me and started beating me because his dinner wasn’t correct.”
Victim Details Abuse
According to an audio-recorded statement from the victim, she had spent the day cleaning and cooking when Toler became upset after waking from a nap and finding his dinner unsatisfactory.
“I tried to just walk away and walk outside to get away from the problem. That didn’t work, and he dragged me back into the residence,” the victim stated. She also reported that Toler struck her with his fist and the base of a home telephone. Additionally, she revealed that Toler choked her to the point of convulsions, a claim supported by visible marks on her neck observed by the officer.
Arrest and Resistance
Trooper Hall immediately placed Toler under arrest. While attempting to escort him to the patrol vehicle, Toler resisted, leading to a brief struggle before he was secured in the cruiser.
Investigation and Charges
The victim’s injuries and statements were documented as evidence, and authorities are continuing to investigate the case. Toler faces multiple charges related to domestic violence and assault.
