SCARBRO, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Beckley man is in jail after Fayette County Deputies say he tried to burn his parents with a torch.
According to court documents, Fayette County Deputies responded to a home in Scarbro over a domestic situation. The victims stated that their son, Zach Zink, was not allowed on the property and was asked to leave.
The suspect’s mother told Deputies that Zink was getting supplies to build a shelter on the property. When the suspect’s mother told her son to leave, he came at her with a torch and tried burning her back. Zink then lit the rear seat of her car. Zink then jumped on his mother, burned her, and then threw the torch at his father while threatening to kill them.
Zink is charged with third-degree arson and two counts of domestics assault. He is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 7,500 bond.
