BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Boone County man has been arrested following a domestic violence incident that left his wife with visible injuries and allegations of repeated physical assault.
The incident occurred on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., at a residence on Hill Top Circle in the Madison area. Trooper M.S. Hall responded to a complaint from the Boone County 911 Emergency Center and met the victim at the West Virginia State Police Madison Detachment.
Allegations of Assault
The victim, whose identity is withheld for her safety, provided an audio-recorded statement detailing the events. She stated that Adam Lee Mitchell became enraged during an argument in which he accused her of infidelity.
“He slammed me up against the wall, choking me,” the victim reported. “I got away from him and went to my kitchen, and he choked me again against the kitchen window, breaking the glass.”
She further described a series of escalating assaults, stating, “In the bedroom, he choked me on the bed, and that’s when I lost consciousness. He slammed me on the bed, and when I tried to get away, I went to the ground, injuring my ankle.”
According to the victim, Mitchell continued his threats, saying, “That’s just the start of it—you have a lot more coming to you, and I’m going to hurt you way worse than I already have.”
Evidence and Injuries
Trooper Hall observed multiple bruises around the victim’s neck, consistent with choking, and a small laceration on her right ankle. The physical evidence corroborates the victim’s account of the assault.
