CLAY COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A West Virginia man accused of murdering his mother in April of 2022 has entered a plea agreement for multiple felony offenses.
According to Clay County Circuit Court documents, 35-year-old Johnny Dale Rogers II of Widen, West Virginia, has pleaded guilty to Voluntary Manslaughter, Use or Presentment of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Destruction of Property, and 3rd Degree Arson.
All charges are felonies and carry a minimum five-year sentence and a maximum 38-year sentence.
On Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at approximately 4:30 pm, Senior Trooper Wiseman and Corporal Raynor responded to Widen Ridge Road in Clay County to assist with a vehicle fire.
Upon arrival, Troopers observed what they believed to be human remains, inside the vehicle. Senior Trooper Wiseman was advised by Clay County 911, the vehicle belonged to 65-year-old, Darlene Jackson of Widen, West Virginia.
Senior Trooper Wiseman discovered that Darlene Jackson’s son, Johnny Dale Rogers II, had spoken to family members and stated Darlene Jackson was missing. Through further investigation, Troopers were able to identify 34-year-old Johnny Dale Rogers II of Widen, West Virginia as the suspect.
