MONTGOMERY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man has been arrested after he violently attacked a nurse because he wanted to leave the hospital.
Earlier this year, the accused, Malachi David Hamblin, was receiving medical attention at the Montgomery General Hospital Emergency Room at Washington Street and 6th Ave, Montgomery, Fayette County, WV 25136.
According to police, the accused emerged from his treatment area and approached the nurses’ station. Costa inquired if there was anything she could assist him with. The accused responded, “You’re not helping me; I’m ready to leave.” The nurse then informed the accused that they were awaiting a bed at a different location and that they couldn’t discharge him until he was deemed safe. She then requested the accused return to his room.
The accused then attacked the nurse, striking her on the left side of her face and then on the back of her head. At this point, two Emergency Medical Service personnel and the Emergency Department Supervisor attempted to subdue the accused. The accused resisted all three attempts.
