CABELL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A West Virginia McDonald’s employee stole $3,000 and never returned to work. Management said they trusted him despite his prior history of theft charges.
On July 12, 2024, between 4:00 PM and 11:59 PM, at the McDonald’s located at 1067 Route 60 in Milton, West Virginia, Scott Keith Boykins, while employed as a shift manager, committed embezzlement of over $1,000.
During his shift, Boykins would typically collect money from various locations within the restaurant, as was customary. However, unlike during regular shifts where the money would be properly accounted for and deposited in the Loomis security safe, Boykins instead placed the money, totaling $3,000, by tucking it into his clothing. He then left the restaurant that night without returning for his next shift and did not respond to attempts by the restaurant management to contact him.
This McDonald’s location had employed Boykins and entrusted him with money handling and other monetary responsibilities for the business, despite his prior history of theft-related charges.
