MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Mercer County man was placed under arrest for domestic assault after swinging a knife at his daughter.
This incident happened in Bluefield, West Virginia, on June 24, 2021. Authorities received a call about a man swinging a knife at a female on a lawn. Police arrived on the scene on College Avenue and began to have a conversation with suspect Samuel Miller.
Miller told authorities he had gotten into an argument with his daughter. At the same time, an officer observing the scene located two knives a few feet away from Miller. According to the statement, Miller started to become irate and began arguing with authorities. He was placed in handcuffs for his safety.
Officers took statements from the wife and daughter. Miller got into an argument with his daughter, took knives from the kitchen area, and swung them at his daughter. Miller’s daughter left the property and stated, “she would not be coming back.”
According to authorities, Miller had a strong odor of an alcoholic substance and continued to argue with officers. Miller was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Bluefield City Jail.
“Once at the jail, Mr. Miller took a Preliminary Breathe Test to determine his Blood Alcohol Content, which was at a .157 almost double the legal limit,” said the report.
Miller was processed and placed in a holding cell, awaiting arraignment.
