After waiting two years to play ball at Linda K. Epling Stadium the West Virginia Miners will have to wait at least one more day.
The team announced Friday morning that the 2021 home opener would be postponed due to impending weather. The forecast Friday morning showed an 80 percent chance of thunderstorms throughout the evening in Beckley.
The team was slated to play its second straight game against the Johnstown Mill Rats after falling to them on the road 9-5 Thursday evening.
The Miners will give it another try Saturday when they host the Champion City Kings on fireworks night. First pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m.
