CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A tragic two-vehicle accident claimed one life and left another driver critically injured in the early hours of Monday morning.
According to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a head-on collision around 1:00 a.m. on the 7800 block of MacCorkle Avenue SE, near Rush Creek and Marmet, just outside Charleston city limits.
A westbound vehicle driven by 38-year-old Keith Dewayne Jenkins crossed the center line, colliding with an oncoming eastbound vehicle.
Jenkins sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver, a 41-year-old man, was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine if any additional factors contributed to the collision.
