BARBOUR COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One woman has been arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop.
According to the Barbour County Sheriff’s Department, on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at approximately 12:12 AM, deputies observed a vehicle run a stop sign at the US Route 250 and WV Route 92 intersection.
Police stopped the vehicle and upon contact with the occupants, the deputy observed indicators of controlled substance use or possession from the occupants.
The driver was identified as Jerry Bennett.
Bennett admitted to not having a driver’s license.
Based on the deputy’s observations, K-9 Creed did an open-air sniff around the vehicle.
Creed indicated on the passenger side of the vehicle where the passenger identified as Lisa Andrews was seated.
Upon a search of the vehicle, a clear bag containing suspect heroin, 2 bags of suspect methamphetamine, 2 sets of digital scales, and $830.00 in cash were found.
Andrews was taken into custody and transported to the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
At the jail, Andrews surrendered 1 bag of suspect cocaine and 1 bag of suspect Fentanyl that was concealed in her pants.
Lisa Dawn Andrews, 39, of Elkins was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to deliver.
She is currently at Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $90,000 bond.
