KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is seeking new information regarding the 2010 disappearance of Samuel Richard “Dickie” Riser.
This December marks 14 years since Riser vanished, and detectives remain committed to solving the case.
Riser, then 60 years old and a resident of Glasgow in Kanawha County, was reported missing in December 2010 after failing to show up for work for several days.
Concerned, his landlord checked on him, prompting an investigation.
At Riser’s home, detectives discovered his television and lights left on, along with evidence of an altercation, including traces of blood.
However, Riser himself was gone, and nothing else appeared to be missing from the residence.
Investigators do not believe Riser was involved in any illegal activity and suspect his disappearance was personal in nature.
Over the years, authorities have pursued numerous leads, but no significant new information has emerged.
The Sheriff’s Office remains hopeful someone may hold the key to solving the case.
“We firmly believe that someone out there knows something about what happened to Dickie Riser,” investigators said in a statement. “It is never too late to come forward. Even the smallest detail could be the key to solving this case.”
