The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for a fourth year.
Below are the candidates for the last two weeks of the boys basketball season. Voting will close Saturday, Friday, Jan. 24 at 11:59 P.M.
Because the two weeks are combined, there will be two winners for Week 3.
The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here
In order for a player to be eligible or nominated, the stat keeper or coach must report all scores and statistics. Scores can be reported to Tylerjackson@lootpress.com and Rustyudy@lootpress.com.
- MJ Patton, Summit Christian – Patton produced scoring games of 26 and 24 points for Summit.
- Drew Fitzwater, Greater Beckley – Fitzwater averaged 12.5 ppg for the Crusaders.
- Jalon Bailey, Shady Spring – Bailey scored in double figured three times for the Tigers who went 2-1.
- Broc Johnson, Wyoming East – Johnson averaged 17.5 ppg for the Warriors who earned wins over Logan and Bluefield.
- Brody Hamric, Greenbrier East – Hamric scored 22 in a win for the Spartans.
- Bryson Bailey, PikeView – Bailey netted double figures twice including 19 points.
- Asher Barclay, Greenbrier West – Barclay scored 21 in a win over Richwood.
- Kadien Vance, Westside – Vance averaged 23.5 point per game, including a 31-point outing in a win.
- Ryan Mann, James Monroe – Mann had scoring games of 22 and 19 points in wins.
- Brock Green, Independence – Green had performances of 21 and 18 points for the Patriots.
- Levi Kiszka, Oak Hill – Kiszka averaged 15 ppg across three games for the Red Devils.
- Liam Daniels, Liberty – Daniels netted 19 points in a win for the Raiders.
- Jaylon Walton, Beckley – Walton scored 24 as Beckley snapped Shady Spring’s long home winning streak.
- Ryan Oliveros, Summers County – Oliveros scored 40 points, hitting six 3s in a win over Greenbrier West.
