The Class A volleyball state tournament has been postponed indefinitely.
The postponement comes pending litigation being settled Tuesday morning in a Hardy County court.
An injunction was filed by No. 1 seed East Hardy, aiming to remove Tyler Consolidated from the Class A state tournament.
Tyler Consolidated, which received an injunction to drop from Class AA to Class A as sectional play started, advanced to the state tournament without playing a regional game after an array of prior injunctions. To resolve the issue and comply with the injunction, Tyler Consolidated was awarded the No. 8 seed, pitting it against St. Marys in a play in state tournament match.
East Hardy is seeking to have Tyler removed as it never won a regional game to earn a state tournament berth.
Multiple sources have confirmed to Lootpress that other Class A state tournament participants have been approached by East Hardy about filing injunctions as well to have Tyler removed.
Class AAAA, AAA and AA will go on as scheduled.
