Punching its ticket to the West Virginia State Duals Championship is nothing new for Woodrow Wilson wrestling.
Wednesday night the Flying Eagles made it four years in a row by sweeping the Region 3 qualifier against George Washington, Greenbrier East and Riverside.
The Flying Eagles opened the tournament with a 77-6 win over Riverside before knocking off Greenbrier East 71-3. Woodrow Wilson then secured the top-seed from Region 3 with a 57-23 win over George Washington.
Woodrow’s Vance Neal secured his 150th career win on the night as well.
The top two teams from each region advance to the State Duals Championship. The second ticket went to the Patriots after a 57-21 win over the Spartans and a 54-24 win over the Warriors.
George Washington will be making its first-ever appearance in the State Duals Championship which will be held at the the State Fairgrounds in Fairlea on Feb. 8.
Kyle Beverly and Owen Anderson picked up career win 100 for the Patriots Wednesday.
