(LOOTPRESS) – Much colder air filters into the region, with rain gradually transitioning to snow throughout the day amid breezy conditions.
Snow showers will continue tonight, with a couple of inches of accumulation possible across the higher terrain.
- When: Wednesday into Thursday morning: Snow: 1-3″ of snow in the West Virginia mountains. Less than an inch elsewhere.
- Winds: Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph for the higher elevations of the northern WV mountains. 20 to 35 mph elsewhere.
- Temperatures: Falling into the 30s during the day Wednesday for most areas, with the higher elevations of the mountains falling into the 20s.
- Impacts: Thursday morning commute in the mountains may be impacted by slick roads. Loose objects will be blown around.
Winds may also increase a bit further along the higher ridges this evening into Thursday morning before calming down later on Thursday.
Quieter weather returns for Thursday through most of Saturday. Well-below-normal temperatures on Thursday will moderate to seasonable levels on Friday.
Widespread rain is expected to develop over the weekend.
