RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – According to the unofficial election results from Tuesday’s election, Raleigh County recorded higher voter turnout than in 2020 in 2022.
Of the 49,081 registered voters in Raleigh County, 30,935 cast a ballot in Tuesday’s election.
The turnout was higher than in the 2020 and 2022 general elections:
2020 turnout (official) – 61.20%
2022 turnout (official) – 41.18%
2024 turnout (unofficial) – 63.03%
The 2024 numbers will be made official when the Raleigh County Commission certifies the election results.
Republicans had a clean down ballot sweep in Raleigh County winning all races from the federal, state, and county level.
Amendment 1, prohibiting medically assisted suicide in West Virginia, was also approved by voters in Raleigh County.
