BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Beckley Area Foundation has announced the approval of $35,546.34 in funding to be awarded to dozens of teachers at 17 schools throughout the Raleigh County area.
Beckley Area Foundation announced on Thursday that the BAF Board of Directors had reviewed committee grant recommendations for final approval and awarded the funding to support 45 Raleigh County teachers.
The funding comes through the Beckley Area Foundation’s Students First program, which was first founded in 1996. Since that time, the program has been responsible for providing funding support for innovative and creative instructional projects in schools throughout the area, including Pre-K through 12th grade public and private schools.
Chair of the Students First program and Beckley Area Foundation Board member, Michelle Leftwich offered her congratulations to the fund recipients.
“On behalf of the BAF review committee, we would like to say congratulations to all the grant recipients this year,” she said. “It’s exciting to see the energy, engagement and creative thinking these teachers are going to bring to their classrooms to inspire their students’ love of learning. We would also like to thank all those who applied, and we look forward to seeing even more teachers apply next year.”
