MOUNT HOPE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – RetroReset Video Games and Collectibles debuted their brand new Raleigh County location in a soft opening event on Thursday.
Bringing along all the vintage goodness patrons have come to expect from the Oak Hill locale, the walls of the former FYE are now lined with enough nostalgia inducing games, toys, and collectibles for one to think they’d stumbled upon something conjured up by a 90s kid who’d found all seven Dragon Balls.
Funko Pops, Matchbox & Hot Wheels cars, Star Wars memorabilia, and comic books are just a few of the endlessly intriguing gems to be found at the store, along with a batch of classic X-Men figurines which were of particular interest to this writer.
Also available for purchase are some of the greatest video game consoles ever made, including Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, and Nintendo 64.
Some of these iconic systems are even available to play in-store, thanks to a nifty gaming area near the rear of the establishment complete with a sizable sofa, half a dozen television sets with a variety of systems, and even a pool table.
This section is complimented by a multitude of tables and sitting areas which the folks at RetroReset hope to make “one of the area’s biggest and nicest places to play TCGs, build legos, have parties, vendor shows, and so much more!”
To compound the excitement, it was announced Thursday that this table space will be free to use for the remainder of the month.
“Yes that right FREE, so come play whatever TCG or table top game you want for free,” read a statement. “Grab some friends and swing by our Crossroads mall location.”
Customers who popped in for the opening event were greeted by familiar friendly faces, as well as some killer tunes – Scorpions and Hagar-era Van Halen were among the soundtracking acts for this writer’s visit.
