Charleston – Olivia Barnett launched her eighth home run of the season as Shady Spring went on the road and beat Capital 9-0 Thursday in Charleston.
Barnett was 2-for-3 at the plate, batting in two runs. Brooke Presley led all batters with four RBIs on two hits. Mallie Lawson also added two hits for Shady.
Paige Maynard struck out 10 for Shady in the shutout win.
Shady improves to 22-2 and will travel to Midland Trail on Friday to close out the regular season.

Wyoming East Middle 16, Bluefield 3 (5 innings)
New Richmond – Paytin Brehm allowed three runs over five innings as Wyoming East avenged its lone loss of the season, beating Bluefield Middle School 16-3 in five innings Thursday in New Richmond.
Cami Tilley led the Lady Warriors with three hits including a triple while Caitlyn Trent went 2-for-4 with a double and a triple.
In the JV game, East also won 17-15.
East closes the regular season 8-1 and will face the winner of Huff Consolidated and Oceana at Oceana on Tuesday in the Wyoming County Championship.
