Shady Spring 11, Riverside 7
Belle – Olivia Barnett hit her seventh home run of the season as Shady Spring rallied from a 3-0 deficit to beat Riverside 11-7 Saturday in Belle.
Hadley Wood started the game in the circle for Shady, but was relieved by Paige Maynard who pitched the final six innings. Maynard tallied 12 strikeouts for the Lady Tigers.
Trailing 3-0 after the first inning, Shady scored two runs each in the second and third to take the lead. Riverside tied the game in the bottom of the third but two more runs in the fourth and five in the fifth put Shady ahead for good.
Barnett added three hits and tallied three RBIs.
Natalie Adams, Mallie Lawson and Kaylee Waddell, all batting in the bottom of the order, drove in two runs each for Shady in the win.
Shady improves to 20-2 on the season and will host James Monroe on Tuesday.
