Wahama 6, Petersburg 5
South Charleston – Wahama’s Morgan Christian hit a three-run home run in the top of the seventh to preserve Wahama’s undefeated season and move the White Eagles into the Class A winner’s bracket.
In a back-and-forth game, Petersburg took the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning after Wahama tied the game in the top of the frame.
The Vikings made one final push scoring two in the bottom of the seventh and loading the bases but couldn’t get the tying run across.
Petersburg will play Midland Trail Tuesday at 5:30 while Wahama will play Ritchie County afterwards,

Sissonville 7, Herbert Hoover 3
South Charleston – Madison Legg did it all, pitching a complete game and homering as Sissonville defeated Herbert Hoover 7-3 Tuesday in the Class AA state tournament in South Charleston.
Hoover’s defense served as its achilles heel, as the Huskies committed four errors in the loss.
Hoover will play Independence at 5:45 in an elimination game while Sissonville who play Oak Glen for a spot in the championship game afterwards.

St. Albans 3, John Marshall 0
South Charleston – St. Albans struck early and never gave up any ground, beating John Marshall 3-0 Tuesday morning in the Class AAA state tournament at Little Creek Park.
Taylor Glancy led the way for the Red Dragons, driving in two runs.
Tayven Stephenson dazzled in the circle, allowing just one hit and striking out six.
St. Albans will play Cabell Midland Tuesday night for a spot in the Class AAA title game. John Marshall will play Washington in the loser’s bracket at 5:45 p.m.
