HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRERSS) – Staff, local leadership, and community members gathered this week at St. Mary’s Medical Center to celebrate 100 years of service to the area for the facility.
The expansive history of St. Mary’s began a century ago with the Pallottine Missionary Sisters. The ensuing decades would see a legacy of compassionate care and dedicated service established by the facility, which today can be found at 2900 First Avenue in Huntington, WV.
Organizers have brought together patients and staff members, along with members of the community in recent weeks to celebrate the work of St. Mary’s over the course of existence and to reflect on the innumerable lives impacted by its mission since its establishment in 1924.
The broad range of inpatient and outpatient services offered at the facility is made available to patients throughout various regions, including West Virginia, southern Ohio, and eastern Kentucky.
A member of the Marshall Health Network, St. Mary’s Medical Center is an acute care hospital with 413 licensed beds. Also operated within the facility are the St. Mary’s Schools of Nursing, Respiratory Care, and Medical Imagine.
