(LOOTPRESS) โ Online shopping giant Temu is set to increase prices for U.S. customers beginning April 25, 2025, in response to new trade tariffs.
The price hike comes after President Donald Trump introduced a new wave of tariffs on Chinese imports, including the removal of the โde minimisโ rule that previously allowed duty-free shipments under $800.
These changes mean more costs for companies like Temu, which relies heavily on shipping low-cost goods from China directly to American consumers.
In anticipation of the shift, Temu has warned shoppers to take advantage of current prices before the tariff-driven increase takes effect.
The company has also significantly scaled back its advertising in the U.S., with daily ad spending dropping by 31% between March 31 and April 13.
Temu isnโt the only platform affectedโfast-fashion rival Shein has also announced upcoming price increases.
Both companies are reevaluating their business models in light of the new trade restrictions, which could reshape how low-cost goods reach American consumers.
For now, bargain hunters have until April 25 to shop before the changes kick in.
