Given her celebrated status as the perhaps most beloved pet in all of West Virginia, it seemed appropriate that Babydog Justice be featured as the very first LOOTPRESS Pet of the Week!
Babydog has become an icon of sorts throughout the Mountain State in recent years, having served as the official mascot of Governor Jim Justice’s ‘Do it for Babydog: Save a life, Change your life’ vaccination sweepstakes, and accompanying the governor for a great many public appearances.
“She makes everybody smile,” Governor Justice exclaims of the beloved English Bulldog, who came into his life as a gift from his children on Christmas of 2019. “This crazy dog is a whole lot more popular than I am, and I’m good with that.”
Indeed, the lovable pup has proven herself comfortable in the spotlight, soaking up pets and coos from crowds who line up to make her acquaintance at public events.
“She loves everybody,” Justice continues. “She’s a good little thing, and she does travel a lot of places with me.”
Governor Justice and his sweetheart pup have become quite the dynamic duo since her introduction to public life, with the two bonding even over shared mealtime preferences.
“This dog is on the same dietary program that I’m on,” he explains with a grin. “She loves a chicken nugget, and so do I; she loves watermelon, and so do I.”
Babydog Justice is a 2 year old English Bulldog who will turn 3 in October. She enjoys relaxing and traveling with her best friends, Governor Jim Justice and his wife, First Lady Cathy Justice. She also enjoys a good watermelon, and occasionally even a relaxing ride on a carousel.
