FORT GAY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Three men were arrested Saturday after leading West Virginia State Police on a high-speed chase through Fort Gay and Genoa.
Troopers Newman and Johnson attempted to stop a green Ford Fusion driving recklessly at high speed in the Fort Gay area.
The driver refused to stop, prompting a pursuit that continued for several miles.
The chase ended in the Radnor Ridge area of Genoa when the vehicle became disabled on an ATV trail.
Joseph Bartram and David Bartram fled on foot but were apprehended a short distance away. A third passenger, Michael Bartram, surrendered immediately.
Police discovered Joseph Bartram had multiple outstanding warrants in Wayne County, including for fleeing, drug charges, firearm possession as a prohibited person, and probation violations.
He now faces additional charges of fleeing with reckless indifference and fleeing on foot.
David Bartram was charged with fleeing on foot, while Michael Bartram was found to have an outstanding capias in Wayne County for driving while revoked for DUI, no insurance, and improper registration.
All three were transported to the Western Regional Jail, where they await arraignment by a Wayne County magistrate.
