CHARLES TOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – “On October 26th, 2023, officers with the Charles Town Police Department responded to the Washington Landing Subdivision for a reported breaking and entering of a construction trailer.
Upon the arrival of officers, it was learned the trailer in question was forcibly entered and a large amount of tools, valued at over $10,000.00, were stolen.
Officers immediately began to conduct an investigation into this incident and began reviewing video footage from the construction site and other nearby businesses. A suspect vehicle was subsequently identified and broadcast to all Jefferson County Law Enforcement Agencies.
While canvassing the area for the vehicle after the initial investigation, officers with the Charles Town Police Department and the Ranson Police Department, located the vehicle in question on East 5th Avenue in the City of Ranson. Two occupants, one male and one female, were detained by officers pending further investigation.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined that both individuals were involved in this incident and were subsequently arrested at the scene.
Ronald Aaron Sartin II, age 39, of Ranson, West Virginia, and Susan Elizabeth Alsalal, age 42, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, were each charged with the felony offenses of breaking and entering, transferring & receiving stolen goods, grand larceny, conspiracy to commit grand larceny, and conspiracy to commit breaking and entering.
Due to the swift action by officers with the Charles Town Police Department and the Ranson Police Department, all of the reported stolen tools were recovered and returned to their rightful owner.”
