MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development West Virginia State Director, Ryan Thorn announced on Wednesday that Rural Development will be extending its affordable homeownership pilot program for West Virginia residents seeking homeownership.
This program will provide assistance to families and individuals across the state for obtaining affordable financing to construct manufactured homes in rural communities.
“Everyone deserves to live in a safe and affordable home,” Thorn says. “Having a place to call home is the foundation for so much else in life… This program expands opportunities for homeownership, strengthens our rural communities and helps people build wealth and achieve financial stability.”
Financing for the program has been made possible through the Single Family Housing Direct Loans program as well as the Single Family Housing Guaranteed Loan program.
Through the extension of the affordable home ownership pilot program, the U.S. Department of Agriculture will continue to waive regulatory requirements which have been put in place for applicants seeking financing to build homes until May 1, 2025.
The pilot program is effective in Iowa, Colorado, Louisiana, Michigan, Utah, Ohio, North Dakota, Montana, Nevade, New Hampshire, Texas, Mississippi, Virginia, Vermont, Tennessee, South Dakota, Wyoming, Washington, Wyoming, and West Virginia.
