CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Vandalia Health has announced a partnership with Mary Free Bed to bring expert rehabilitation services to West Virginia.
Headquartered in Charleston, West Virginia, Vandalia Health also boasts locations in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland, with 1,530 beds, over 13,000 employes, 17 hospitals, and more than 190 locations.
As part of the recently announced partnership, Vandalia Health’s 24-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit found at CAMC General Hospital will be part of an expansion resulting in the construction of a new 50-bed rehabilitation hospital on the Vandalia Health CAMC General Health Campus.
Day-to-day operations, procedures, and performance will be managed by the Mary Free Bed leadership team in close association with CAMC and Vandalia Health leadership. The collaboration will help to bring high quality rehabilitation services access to the West Virginia area. The working collaboration will also serve to align critical and operational practices as well as increase clinical skills to better serve more complex facility patients.
“CAMC’s focus is always on how to best meet the needs of patients and our community,” says Charleston Area Medical Center President and CEO and Vandalia Health Executive Vice President, Glenn Crotty Jr., MD. “We are excited to work together with Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation to enhance clinical expertise and patient experience in rehabilitation care in West Virginia.”
Mary Free Bed Chief Operating Officer, Bruce Brasser, notes the opportunities which could be made possible through the collaboration.
“In health care, alignment of mission and values is essential for successful partnerships, says Brasser. “This collaboration represents a shared vision of expanding access to world-class rehabilitation care for those who need it most.”
The collaborative agreement will be known as Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation at Vandalia Health CAMC General Hospital. The collaboration emerged from a working relationship with the Mary Free Bed Advisory Group, which dedicates itself to efforts toward building national partnerships and consulting with organizations which are shown to have shared the same values and mission.
