WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – A group of West Virginia miners recently made the trip down to North Carolina to rebuild a road that was washed out by Hurricane Helene.
A group of West Virginia coal miners from Alpha Metallurgical Resources spent the week in North Carolina rebuilding a road in Chimney Rock that was washed out.
The miners used different pieces of heavy equipment to create a drivable road as well as move debris.
According to Alpha Met. Resources CEO Andy Eidson, A&P donated additional equipment and manpower to help the miners.
Some of the West Virginia workers include Charles Dunbar, Darrell McCune, Jimmy Wood, Stephen Boone, Jeff Barnhouse with Rock Solid Construction, Ben Harris, Derek Butler, Bobby Thomas, and Jon Campbell.
An official estimate of when a permanent road from Bat Cave to Chimney Rock will be completed is unknown at this time.
