CHARLES TOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A male juvenile was stabbed early Monday morning in the 400 block of East 1st Avenue, according to the Charles Town Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the scene during the early hours of January 6, where they found the victim with a stab wound to the right shoulder.
Emergency medical personnel arrived shortly afterward, stabilized the juvenile, and transported him to a local medical facility for further treatment.
After obtaining a description of the suspect, officers canvassed the area and located a man matching the description on a porch nearby.
When officers attempted to detain the suspect, he resisted, requiring officers to forcibly restrain him.
The suspect, identified as Jason Lloyd Lang, 41, of Charles Town, was charged with malicious assault, obstructing an officer, and resisting arrest. Police described the attack as random and unprovoked.
Following a medical evaluation, Lang was transported to the Eastern Regional Jail, where he remains in custody on a $25,000 bond set by a Jefferson County Magistrate.
The victim’s condition has not been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Authorities remind the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
