BOTETOURT COUNTY, VA (LOOTPRESS) – A single-vehicle crash on Route 220 in Botetourt County claimed the life of a West Virginia man on Monday evening, August 26th.
According to the Virginia State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 6:49 PM, just south of Catawba Creek Road.
A 2021 Nissan Kicks, driven by 72-year-old William Lee McMann of Marlinton, WV, veered off the right side of the roadway.
The vehicle struck an embankment and overturned.
Mr. McMann, who was wearing his seatbelt, died at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation by authorities.
