MEADOWBROOK, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Brock Corel Pearson, 42, of Meadowbrook, was sentenced Monday to 115 months in prison after being found in possession of an unregistered short-barreled shotgun.
Court documents revealed that Pearson was stopped by officers in Harrison County, where a search of his vehicle uncovered a backpack containing the illegal firearm.
Due to previous drug convictions in both West Virginia and Mississippi, Pearson is legally prohibited from owning or possessing firearms.
Following his prison sentence, Pearson will serve three years of supervised release.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) handled the investigation, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Conklin prosecuted the case.
Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the sentencing.
