GHENT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – As the 2024-2025 season approaches, Winterplace Ski Resort announced on Wednesday a two-year multi-million-dollar capital investment plan combining a USDA energy improvement grant with the Winterplace capital budget.
The investment will reportedly be implemented in two phases, expected to occur during the 2024-2025 Winterplace season and by Summer 2025, respectively.
Significant projects to be implemented as part of the investment will include upgrades to the resort’s snowmaking system, the addition of slope lighting, improvements to HVAC systems in the Resort Center, and the installation of new LED lighting.
“The grant enables us to accelerate key upgrades across the resort, significantly reducing our energy consumption during peak winter months,” said Winterplace Ski Resort General Manager, Josh Faber of the capital investment. “Our focus is always on elevating the guest experience – by producing not just more snow, but consistently superior, high-quality snow that sets us apart. These improvements will ensure Winterplace remains a top destination for families to enjoy winter outdoor fun now and for generations to come.”
Also expected to be implemented during the upcoming season is convenient online ticket processing, which will allow patrons of Winterplace to save both time and money through a new, user-friendly website expected to launch in the coming months.
Additionally, Winterplace will be streamlining the renal process for skis, with an aim to minimize wait times as much as possible while maximizing the time patrons are able to spend on the ski slopes. The resort has recently invested $100,000 in new rental gear for guests, including the addition of over 200 pairs of skis and new ski and snowboard bibs and boots. Winterplace merchandise will also be available for purchase at the soon-to-be launched resort website.
