GHENT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Winterplace Ski Resort has announced that it will be opening its slopes to skiers and snowboarders this weekend, with the resort’s 42nd Season set to kick off on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
The fun will begin at 9:00am, with 17 trails including the Rendezvous, Drop Off, Compromise, Over Easy, and more set to become available to guests until closing time at 9:00pm.
The following weekend will see the opening of the largest Snowtubing Park in West Virginia on Saturday, December 21, 2024.
“The Winterplace snowmaking efforts officially kicked off in late November and the team has been working nonstop as weather conditions permit to prepare for the upcoming season,” said Winterplace in the announcement.
Winterplace General Manager, Josh Faber expressed excitement at the prospect of guests returning to Winterplace to create lasting memories with friends and family throughout the 2024/2025 season.
“Our successful snowmaking campaign has allowed us to pump 41,500,000 gallons of water on 17 trails so far, which is enough to cover 5,000 football fields in snow,” said Faber. “We are excited to open our slopes for the 42nd skiing and snowboarding season and invite families to get outdoors this winter to make some magical winter memories with us at Winterplace.”
Winterplace has announced a number of upcoming planned events, including Ski with Santa, which will offer guests the opportunity to catch Kris Kringle on the slopes and pose for a selfie December 23 – December 25 from 11:00am to 6:00pm.
