PUTNAM COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman was arrested for attacking her partner, who brought her sushi and a pint of Smirnoff vodka.
On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, officers responded to a domestic disturbance in Hurricane. According to reports, Corporal Baumgardner of the Hurricane Police Department arrived first to find a male, identified as Mark Hannah Curtis III, lying behind the front door, slipping in and out of consciousness. A female suspect, Victoria Renee Puckett, was stopped after attempting to flee the scene.
Puckett initially claimed she was attacked by Curtis, stating they had a professional relationship and that Curtis showed up unannounced. However, Curtis provided a different account, stating that he and Puckett had been in an off-and-on sexual relationship for 14 years. He explained that on the evening of the incident, he had bought Puckett sushi and a pint of Smirnoff vodka, and after consuming the vodka, she became aggressive, attacking him by punching, scratching, and stomping on his head and neck, even pushing him down the stairs. Curtis’ injuries were consistent with his account, and officers found an empty vodka bottle at the scene.
EMS arrived to treat Curtis and Puckett, who was found with a possible broken knuckle. However, she refused further treatment and allegedly shoved an EMS provider out of the back of the ambulance. After gathering evidence, officers arrested Puckett and transported her for processing.
While being booked, Puckett managed to hide her cell phone in her sock and was caught using it to send messages. Officers discovered the phone after she provided false information about its location.
Victoria Renee Puckett is now facing charges of Domestic Battery, Battery on EMS personnel, and Obstructing an Officer.
