NEW HAVEN, WV (LOOTPRESS)— A New Haven man was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle during an altercation in the area of Rollins and 3rd Street on November 4, 2024.
According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 5:22 p.m. The victim recounted the events leading up to the incident.
He stated he was in his garage when he heard a loud commotion outside. Upon investigation, he found Kyrah Carr and a man engaged in a heated argument. The confrontation escalated further when the witness attempted to intervene and de-escalate the situation.
The witness reported that Carr began using her car to drive erratically, striking objects on the street. At one point, the victim allegedly tried to enter the witness’s home, causing their dog to escape into the roadway.
As he stepped into the street to retrieve the dog, Carr allegedly accelerated her vehicle toward him at approximately 20 mph, striking both him and the dog. The impact reportedly threw him onto the car’s hood and windshield before he landed on the side of the road.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived on the scene and transported the man to Rivers Health ER. Medical evaluations revealed he sustained broken and bruised ribs, as well as bruising to his kidney and lung.
Three witness statements were obtained from individuals at the scene, corroborating the account of the events.
