PRINCETON, WV LOOTPRESS) – A man was arrested and charged with multiple offenses following a violent domestic dispute at an apartment complex on Highland Avenue on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
According to a report from the Princeton Police Department, Officer S.W. Owens responded to a call about a verbal domestic altercation at 816 Highland Avenue. Upon arrival, neighbors informed Officer Owens that they had heard a woman downstairs screaming, “Don’t kill me,” during an apparent fight.
Officer Owens proceeded to the downstairs apartment and was met by a man, later identified as Larry Revels, who opened the door and stated he was in possession of two knives. The officer secured the knives, and Revels admitted the woman inside needed medical attention.
Inside the apartment the victim was crying and accused Revels of stabbing her multiple times. Officer Owens observed bloodstains throughout the apartment and on her clothing. She displayed numerous stab wounds and other visible injuries, including black eyes, a bloody nose, and bruises on her wrists.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene to treat her, who was transported to WVU Medicine Princeton for further care. Meanwhile, Revels was placed under arrest and charged with malicious assault and domestic battery.
During a follow-up at the hospital, the victim provided a written statement describing the incident. She alleged that an argument erupted after Revels received a phone call, during which he struck her in the face with a closed fist. According to the victim, Revels later armed himself with two knives and attacked her, stating he intended to kill her.
Officer Owens documented 13 stab wounds on the victim’s body and photographed additional injuries consistent with her account of the assault.
Revels was transported to the Princeton Police Department for processing, where Sgt. R.S. Gibson assisted with the procedure. He remains in custody pending further legal proceedings. The investigation is ongoing.
