MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia University has announced the launch of WVU Guarantee, a program designed to help qualifying West Virginia students cover tuition and University fees.
The initiative, starting this fall, is open to both incoming and current undergraduate students across the WVU System, including WVU Morgantown, WVU Institute of Technology, and WVU Potomac State College.
To qualify, students must be West Virginia residents with a family adjusted gross income of $65,000 or less and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by August 1.
Once the FAFSA is submitted, no additional application is required for the WVU Guarantee program.
“By presenting greater accessibility and affordability to any West Virginian with aspirations to pursue higher education, we hope to take price considerations out of the decision for even more students to attend and complete college,” said Steve Hahn, interim vice president for Enrollment Management.
The program will continue to provide benefits even if a student’s family income exceeds $65,000 after initial enrollment.
As a “last-dollar-in” program, WVU Guarantee works in combination with other scholarships and aid to reduce financial burdens.
“WVU Guarantee is a critical investment in our access mission and the development of the next generation of West Virginia’s leaders, field experts, researchers, and entrepreneurs,” said Vice Provost Mark Gavin.
Students are encouraged to contact the WVU Hub for assistance with FAFSA completion or for further details about the program.
